At the end of last school year, I had the privilege to be voted as President of the Chaparral Patrons of the Performing Arts. With that honor a rush of nervousness came with it as I wasn’t sure I could do justice to this amazing community. I stepped into some big shoes, as prior presidents have done amazing things for our community and I wasn’t sure I would be able to do the same for our Chap Performing Arts family.
Today, after having a successful membership drive, I am exchanging that feeling of nervousness for gratefulness. I am very thankful for David Peterson and the amazing faculty of our Chap Performing Arts. Every day I see how much care and love they have towards our students and families. Their help has ensured we will have an amazing Gala.
I am also very thankful for all our kids. They are not only working their butts off to ensure they are achieving amazing grades, but also ensuring our Chap Performing Arts department continues to be amazing. I am especially grateful to our Thespian Board. You all have gone the extra mile to ensure the Patrons are having an amazing year, and thanks to you we have achieved our objectives year to date. I am very pleased how our community has poured their support towards our Gala, and most important our Chaparral Performing Arts department. Thanks to all businesses donating and parents contributing towards our baskets. We will have an amazing Silent Auction.
Finally, I am so very grateful for our amazing board and volunteers who have spent endless hours creating this amazing Gala. Your work, attention to detail, amazing ideas, and love towards our community will ensure we will have a great 2022 Gala. They have heard so many crazy ideas, good and bad, and you are ensuring we will have an amazing event.
I am looking forward to our amazing Gala and celebrating how all our Performing Arts come together in one amazing night.
With much gratitude,
Guillermo Velasco Cuevas
